Liver Lowdown

FEATURE

It’s October, and that means it’s Liver Cancer Awareness month! For the second year in a row, the American Liver Foundation has partnered with Bayer Healthcare for a public awareness campaign. The efforts aim to encourage people who are at risk of liver cancer to follow up with their doctors and get proper ongoing screening for this, one of the deadliest, forms of cancer.

The cornerstone of this campaign is again a set of vivid ads -- similar to the one seen here -- on bus shelters, subway platforms, taxi tops, and street posters in New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago. In each city, specially targeted ads offer the opportunity for individuals to “Text for More Information” and have information on risk factors and other valuable information sent directly to their mobile phones!

You can also follow the campaign on social media through the month of October. Look for daily updates on our Facebook Page, or find us on Twitter where we are using the hashtag #LCAM2015 to discuss the topic. Also, we encourage everyone to view the informative conversation from our 10/20 Tweet Chat by using the hashtag #LiverChat.

Finally, if you see one of our "Are You at Risk" signs, we encourage you to tag us on Twitter (@liverUSA) or Instagram (@americanliver) and post the image for everyone to see!
