Liver Lowdown

Staff and supporters of the American Liver Foundation have had a busy few weeks. Whether meeting legislators in Washington, hosting fundraising galas or celebrating liver transplant recipients and organ donors, we are getting the word out about the importance of supporting more research on liver disease, services for patients and families and awareness about liver health.

The Connecticut Division’s Flavors event exceeded expectations, raising more than $265,000. There were 34 chefs from some of the best restaurants in Connecticut. More than 400 people dined on a 5-course dinner and enjoyed scrumptious appetizers during the cocktail reception. The evening also included a silent auction, live auction and a Fund-a-Mission presentation. Christian Mercado, a 10-year-old boy who has autoimmune hepatitis, was featured in a special Fund-a-Mission video and also served as co-emcee along with Renee DiNino from Clear Channel Radio.
