Some highlights:

The Washington Post

National Medical Advisory Committee members Rohit Satoskar, MD and Rohit Loomba, MD, were featured in the March 2, 2015, issue of The Washington Post discussing the incidence and causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. An ALF patient advocate was also featured and the article linked to the ALF website. Dr. Satoskar is assistant professor of surgery and medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center Transplant Institute. Dr. Loomba is
 associate professor of clinical medicine and associate director of clinical research at the University of California at San Diego. The article also ran in The Chicago Daily Herald on March 13, 2015.

The American Liver Foundation was cited in a March 15, 2015, article about fatty liver disease and the need for more diagnostic technologies to detect the disease early.


MyFox Houston, KRIV-TV

Daniel Leung, MD, president of the Houston American Liver Foundation board of directors, was again featured in a six-part "Ask the Doctor" series covering liver health that began airing in January. February segments included a discussion about overall liver health and wellness, including binge drinking and the safe use of over-the-counter medications. The segments aired on January 15, 2015 and February 16, 2015. Dr. Leung is assistant professor of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and director of the Viral Hepatitis Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital.


St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Mauricio Lisker-Melman, MD, a member of the American Liver Foundation's national medical advisory committee, was featured in an article discussing the effects obesity has on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The article ran in the February 26, 2015, issue. Dr. Lisker-Melman is professor of medicine and director of the hepatology program at Washington University School of Medicine.


KUSI-TV, San Diego

ALF Pacific Coast Division Executive Director Michele DeMotto appeared in a news segment March 13, 2015, about an upcoming Flavors of Coronado event. Proceeds from Flavors support the American Liver Foundation’s Pacific Coast Division programs. News about Flavors of Coronado was also featured in the San Diego Daily Transcript.
